Rajasthan IAS officer's parents looted at gunpoint in Haryana

About six unidentified armed miscreants allegedly looted cash and jewellery at gunpoint from the parents of an IAS officer posted at Jaipur, near here, police said today.

The incident happened yesterday near Bawal (Haryana) when the parents of IAS officer Gaurav Goyal, posted at Jaipur as Managing Director of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation, were returning from Delhi to Jaipur in a car driven by their driver Jagdish, police said.

About six armed miscreants in another car, restrained Gaurav Goyal's father Ramesh Goyal and his mother along with the driver and forcibly took their car into forest area of Ramsinghpura village, about 5 km from Bawal (Haryana), police said, adding that they looted cash and jewellery from the trio at gunpoint.
 

Before fleeing the miscreants rendered the mobile phones of the officer's parents inoperative by removing batteries.

The Bawal Police has registered cases of dacoity and those under the provisions of the Arms Act on the basis of a complaint filed by Ramesh Goyal who said in the complaint that the trio has been looted of Rs 20,000 cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.

A probe was on in the matter, said a senior police official.
