Magsaysay Award winner and social activist Aruna Roy today alleged that Rajasthan was lagging behind in dealing with the cases under Right To Information (RTI) act as there was pendency of at least three years.

"People have to make awareness on RTI movement in entire Rajasthan to wake up the state government that was not expediting even queries sought by public under the act," Roy said at a book release function here.

People have been applying to get information from the government's various departments, but they were not getting basic information in the stipualted time frame thus there was a pendency of such cases of last three years, she said.

"Untill the government's accountability is not fixed, the laws can not be implemented strictly specially in RTI, she said.
