Fulfilling the demands of farmers to remove trees from agricultural land, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today directed the officials to lift ban on uprooting 'Vilayati Babool' (prosopis juliflora) from the farmland.

At a high-level meeting with district and state officials on the third day of her visit in this district, Raje said whosoever wants can uproot the 'Vilayati Babool' from the agricultural areas now.

Earlier, it was allowed to chop the tree but uprooting was not allowed.

The tree could now be uprooted and used for charcoal purpose, Raje said.

In other meetings, Raje told PHED officials that overhead water tanks and reservoirs should be cleaned on regular basis and they should make random inspection of these structures filled with potable water.

She also announced that there would be a transfer policy in education, medical & health department and it should be done on district-level.

She further announced that a sum of Rs 1,500 crore would be spent on development of Nagaur district for providing water, sewerage, and roads, according to an official spokesman.
