The Nainwa municipality chairman was arrested today for allegedly selling government land to private owners here, police said.
Pramod Jain, the Nainwa municipality chairman from BJP was arrested today for selling around 50 bighas of land reserved for the construction of government institutes and offices to private owners, DSP, Nainwa region, Virendra Jhakhad said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered against the municipality chairman in this connection on April 2 on the report by the revenue officer (Tehsildar) of Nainwa sub division area of Bundi district, he said.
Elaborating further on the crime, police said that Jain had sold 50 bighas of government land to about 33 private owners of Nainwa town.
The accused official will be produced before the magistrate tomorrow, they added.
