The Anti Corruption Bureau of Rajasthan Police today arrested a sub-inspector posted at Fathepur Kotwali police station in Sikar district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000.

Sub-inspector Mohan Lal had demanded the bribe from complainant Jawahar Singh to remove his son's name in a case lodged under IPC sections 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage, etc) and 363 (punishment for kidnapping), Additional SP Prithviraj Meena told PTI.

Singh had paid Rs 2,000 on February 10 but the sub-inspector demanded Rs 3,000 more, he said.

The ACB team arrested Lal while he was taking the bribe and booked him under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Meena said.
