The rainfall at most of the places in the state has been light to moderate and monsoon is likely to remain weak during the next 48 hours, Met department officials said.

However, some of the areas have received heavy rainfall over the last few days and the water level in dams and other water bodies is increasing.

"The rainfall this year is deficit due to a delay in the monsoon. Total rainfall for the entire state is 24 per cent deficit," a Met official said.

"Average/normal rainfall of the state from June 1 to July 12 is 93 mm but during the period this year, the state received 71 mm rainfall which is 24 per cent less than normal," a Met official said here today.

"Eastern parts received 3 per cent less than normal and Western parts, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, recorded rainfall 58 per cent less than the normal," he said.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected at few places in the state during next 48 hours.
