Rajasthan reels under intense heat

People got no respite from the scorching sun today as Rajasthan continued to reel under intense heat wave, where Churu and Sriganganagar districts sizzled at 48.5 and 48.4 degrees Celsius.

Temperature remained above normal in most parts of the state and the mercury in Bikaner settled at 47.2, while it stood at 46.4 degrees Celsius in Barmer and Jaisalmer districts, Met officials said.

Normal life took a hit in Kota, Pilani, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer districts also, where temperatures settled at 46.4, 45.2, 44.6, 44.4 and 44.2 degrees Celsius respectively.

Met officials said the heat wave conditions will continue to prevail in the state in the coming days.
