Raje announces free 35 kg wheat to Sahariya, Kathori families

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today announced that her government would provide 35 kg of wheat free of cost to every tribal household of Sahariya and Kathori tribes in Baran and Udaipur districts respectively, a CMO spokesman said here.

In her order, the Chief Minister asked the Food and Civil Supply Department to effect the free supply of 35 kg of wheat to every family of Sahariya tribal in Baran district, and Kathori tribal families in Udaipur district, the spokesman said.

Principal Secretary of the Food and Civil Supply department Subodh Agrawal said this order was implemented forthwith.

The state government has taken this step in view of welfare schemes to provide better nutrition and food grains to tribal people suffering from malnutrition related diseases. However, in the state assembly session recently, the Raje government had denied of any death due to malnutrition.
