In a high-level meeting at secretariat here, she reviewed performance of tourism and its affiliated departments and asked the officials to make tourism fairs and festivals more attractive and friendly for visitors from the country and abroad.

Sambhar Lake, a salt city, should be brought to tourist map, she said, adding that an accident free and safe road route should be built for pilgrims of Ramdevera in Jaisalmer district.

She also reviewed the 60-days work plan of Tourism department and asked the officers to obtain its goals in a stipulated time frame.

Places of historical importance, aggressive marketing of tourist destinations, tourist guest houses' development, Kalbeliya dance training centre, employment generation in tourism sector and cultural tourism should also be on the agenda of the department, she emphasised.

Besides, the department should also draw plan for air strips development so that foreign tourists could go straight to their destination as an alternative to road or train services, Raje underlined.
