Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today accused opposition Congress of working with "no vision" when it was in power and said that her government does not work for "political vendetta".
Raje said criticisms should be "constructive" but this was not the case with the opposition which is "trying to distract people's attention" from development issues.
She said efforts were made to provoke the sentiments of people and disturb communal harmony in the name of reservation issue but her government was committed to maintain peace and harmony and to create an investment-friendly environment in the state.
Raje was replying on the Motion of Thanks on the Governor's address in which she highlighted the works done by her government.
"When you were in power, you worked with political vendetta and leveled personal and baseless attacks, formed Mathur Commission but the Supreme Court quashed it.
"It was a political vendetta but we do not work like this. We decide a matter on the basis of merit and demerit," Raje said, adding that the move of the former government "exposed" Congress before the public.
"We will not work with vendetta. During a meeting, I asked the officers to examine any matter or complaint on the basis of merit and demerit and then take action accordingly. We will go to the depth of the matter. We will take up the matters not in a biased manner but on the basis of merit," she said.
Raje said that the previous Congress government took the decision to set up a refinery without properly analysing financial aspects and without considering financial viability.
"We are in talks with the HPCL for the refinery and the last meeting took place on February 9. It is yet to determine the status of the oil deposits. Any decision with regard to the refinery will be taken only after examining and considering all the aspects," she said.
Raje also criticised the previous government for taking up the Metro rail project without considering its viability.
She also presented a comparison between the works of her government with the previous Congress government and said that the present government was focused on improving the financial and social infrastructure as well as industrial environment in the state.
Raje said the government made efforts for skill development of youths, creating job opportunities and bringing investment in the state.
"We are working with vision in all areas. The government is reaching out to remote areas. When the government was formed, we started 'Sarkar Apke Dwar' programme under which the government reached out to people and resolved their grievances," she said.
