Raje launches Annapurna Bhandar Yojna to mordernise PDS

Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje today launched 'Annapurna Bhandar Yojna' for providing multi-brand products of daily consumption at fair price shops in the state.

Under the project, 25,000 fair price shops in the state will be converted into Annapuran Bhandar so that people can get multi-brand consumer goods at competitive prices, Raje said while launching the first such shop at Bhambori village in the district.

The initiative taken in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode will modernise the PDS and provide better quality consumer goods, the Chief Minister said, adding more than 160 goods would be available at competitive prices.

Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said, the initiative will also benefit unemployed youths.
 

Speaking about Raje's recent visit to New Delhi, Rathore said, the Chief Minister was trying to get maximum assistance from the Centre for the development of Rajasthan.

Among others, State Food and Civil Supply Minister Hem Singh Bhadana and Urban Development and Housing Minister Rajpal Singh were also present on the occasion.
