Raje playing politics over fake encounter cases: Congress

Press Trust of India Jaipur
Rajasthan unit of Congress today accused BJP state chief Vasundhra Raje of politicising alleged fake encounters of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Dara Singh, saying that she had "clash of interest".

Alleging that Raje was politicising the issue as some Congress leaders were said to be involved in these cases, PCC president Chandrabhan said the matter is subjudice and should not be politicised.

"Raje is politicising these cases which is a wrong tradition. She wants to agitate with this agenda but she should disclose what is her interest behind this exercise?" Chandrabhan said at a public meeting in Churu district's Tara Nagar.

"Instead of this, the BJP should raise and agitate over public interest issues but Raje being an anti-people leader has no concern with public interest," he said.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot also accused BJP of misleading people on various issues.

"BJP after 65 years of independence could not become an alternative of Congress because they (BJP leaders) mislead people by spreading rumours and telling lies," he blamed.

Gehlot also laid foundation stone of a drainage project in Churu and also dedicated an over-bridge on Churu-Fatehpur highway and Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra in Rajgarh Panchayat Samiti in Churu.
