Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming untitled Tamil movie will be a Pa Ranjith directorial and will begin shooting in August in Malaysia.

To be produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu, the film will be written and directed by Ranjith of "Madras" and "Attakathi" fame.

"gud news to all thalaivar fans. @superstarrajini @theVcreations @beemji movie announced just Now (sic)," Rajinikanth's publicist Riaz K Ahmed tweeted.

Santosh Narayanan will compose music while Murali G will handle the camera work on the movie. The duo had worked with Ranjith in "Madras."

For Kalaipuli Dhanu, a noted film producer of Tamil cinema, it is a dream come true to produce a Rajinikanth film. He is credited to have prefixed the "superstar" tag to Rajinikanth when he distributed the actor's first solo hero Tamil movie "Bhairavi" in 1978.

After 60 day schedule in Malaysia, the shooting will move to Thailand, Hong Kong and Chennai.

The casting of other stars, including a heroine opposite Rajinikanth, is still in the process.

Rajinikanth's previous movie "Lingaa" which released last year bombed at the box office and the actor faced some issues with a section of distributors, who wanted him to refund them.
