Rajiv Jyoti Sadbhavana Yatra, 22nd edition, began its journey from the former Prime Minister's memorial at Sriperumbudur near here.
After completing the procedures and administering a pledge taken by the cadres in the Memorial, the yatra began its journey today, Yatra Committee in-charge Sudhakara Reddy said.
"About 300 persons including 100 women are participating in the yatra that could pass through nine States. Our message is to "quit communalism" and quit terrorism" and carry forward the ideals of Shri Rajiv Gandhi", Reddy told PTI.

He said the Yatra is scheduled to reach New Delhi on August 19 after covering several cities and towns.
"It has been planned to hand over the 'Jyoti' to Congress President Sonia Gandhi on August 19, coinciding with the Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary which falls on next day", he said.
