Arunachal Pradesh Governor J P Rajkhowa today called for communal harmony in the state and exhorted the people to strengthen the spirit of 'unity in diversity'.
Gracing the Oriah Festival of the Wangsu community at Mopin-Solung ground here, the governor stressed that the indigenous communities of the state must preserve their dialogue, language and heritage.
He advised the people to go for documentation and said that efforts should be there to develop their own script.

He said that major tribes should ensure the ground is made for minor tribes carrying forward their identity.
"This will ensure peace and tranquillity in the state," he added.
The governor along with his wife Rita Rajkhowa, initiated the commencement of the festival by performing 'Zangwan Wan Tong Shom' (offering to God) for wellbeing of the people, bounty harvest and communal harmony. ' Rajkhowa appreciated the organisers for carrying forward the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Wancho tribe by celebrating the Oriah festival in Itanagar.
A colourful cultural programme including, famed bamboo dance of the Wancho, war dance, fashion show and remix of traditional and gymnastic dance were presented on the occasion.
