"RMC successfully launched a polio eradication campaign and after 2002 no polio case has been detected in the city," municipal commissioner Ajay Bhadu said today.
Nearly one lakh children in the country die due to measles every year, and in Rajkot five to six cases are diagnosed every year at the RMC-run health centres and the government hospitals, he said.
Under the new drive, 1.82 lakh children in the age-group of nine months to ten years would be covered, Bhadu said.
The campaign would be a part of Union Government's 'Measles Routine Immunisation' project.
