Rajkot needs hospital for heart, kidney aliments: Minister

Gujarat minister for agriculture and water supply Govindbhai Patel today said that Rajkot needs a good hospital for heart and kidney ailments, and he has urged the state health minister to make proposal for it in this year's budget.

"People of saurashtra region have been facing difficulty as Rajkot does not have quality government hospital for heart and kidney diseases and patients have to go to Ahmedabad for treatment," said Patel, who is the local MLA, talking to reporters.

"Rajkot will soon have a government-run cancer hospital and tender process is underway," the minister said, adding that about Rs 20 crore would be spent on the hospital which would also have a research centre.
