Rajnath launches Hindi song penned by Goa Governor

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today launched an audio CD of song titled 'Hindi -- Bharat Maa ki Bindi', written by Goa Governor Mridula Sinha.

Lauding Sinha for her creative works in Hindi despite a hectic political career, the Home Minister said that the playing of the CD should be made mandatory at Hindi Diwas functions and the CD widely circulated across the country.

Singh, speaking at the launch event here, also commended the Department of Official Language under the Home Ministry for promoting the use of Hindi in computers.

In her speech, Sinha said that she was very intimately linked to Hindi literature and is also proud to be the first brand ambassador for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign.
 

Later, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju unveiled the 'Online Hindi Shabd Paheli' (online crossword on Hindi words), 'Online Hindi Prashnottari' (online Hindi Q&As) and a compilation of short stories by renowned Hindi author Munshi Premchand on the website of Department of Official Language.

Rijiju said in the era of Information Technology, such interactive quizzes and popular short stories will draw the interest of internet users to Hindi.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language Satyanarayan Jatiya said Hindi is the most scientific of all languages and is not difficult to pick up.
