tonight met Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the chief ministers meeting on land bill from which Congress-ruled states are likely to stay away.
During the one-on-one half an hour meeting, Singh and Modi are believed to have discussed the political situation in the country, sources said.

Modi returned home yesterday after attending meetings of BRICS and SCO in Ufa in Russia and his five-nation tour in central Asia.
Singh is said to have briefed Modi about various issues.
Modi has called the meeting of Niti Aayog's governing council, of which all chief ministers are part, on July 16, with the land acquisition bill as the main agenda.
He will chair the meeting while Singh and other senior Ministers will participate it.
