Home Minister Rajnath Singh today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is believed to have discussed about the fallout of the raging controversy over help provided to Lalit Modi by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

Singh is said to have had a one-on-one meeting with Modi on the sidelines of a meeting of the Unique Identification Authority of India held at the Prime Minister's Office in South Block.

Sources said the Home Minister and the Prime Minister are believed to have discussed the controversy involving Swaraj and Raje, whose resignations have been demanded by the Opposition.

However, details of their discussions are not known.

Though BJP and the government have come in full support of Swaraj who helped Lalit Modi obtain travel documents from the UK, where he has been staying after he left India to avoid investigative agencies, they have been more restrained in their defence of Raje, who has been accused of secretly helping him in his immigration.

A company owned by Raje's son Dushyant Singh, who is an MP, also reportedly received investment from Modi, an old family friend of Raje, who is leading the BJP government in Rajasthan.
