Rajnath Singh meets J-K Governor

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today called on Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra here and discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to the state.

Singh, who is on two day visit here, met Vohra at the Raj Bhavan and had extensive discussions about issues relating to external and internal security management in Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said.

He said they also discussed matters relating to relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims and about the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra which commenced today.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Mahesh Sharma also met Vohra.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture and MoS Civil Aviation Sharma and the Governor discussed wide ranging issues relating to promotion of tourism, exploitation of new tourist destinations and development of reliable air services in the State, particularly to connect the remote areas with Jammu, Srinagar, Leh and Kargil, the spokesman said.
 

The Governor also pointed to the need for planned action being taken for the promotion of art and cultural activities in the State, the spokesman said.
