Rajnath Singh to lay foundation stone of new CFSL

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone for the construction of a new state-of-the-art Central Forensic Science Laboratory complex, at Palasbari near here on November 29.

The establishment of the new CFSL at village Urput area is a part of a bigger expansion plan of the Directorate Forensic Science Services, MHA, to provide quality, timely and creditable forensic services, said CFSL Deputy Director Dr S K Jain in a press release today.

The forensic services will be provided to all state and Central law enforcement agencies, public sector undertakings and courts of law, besides besides assisting the criminal justice system in the N-E region in providing timely forensic services and in handling high pendency of cases, Jain said.
 

Besides acting as a forensic research and and referral centre for the region, he said it will provide research facilities to the students of the area and also employment opportunities to them The expansion programme was taken by the Central government as a 12th Five Year Plan scheme with an outlay of Rs 285 crore to establish three new CFSLs at Guwahati, Pune and Bhopal, Jain added.
