The Opposition bench in the Delhi Assembly was strengthened today with newly-elected Rajouri Garden MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa being administered the oath by the Speaker of the House.
Sirsa, a BJP-Akali Dal candidate, won the Rajouri Garden Assembly bypoll defeating his Congress rival. The Opposition in Delhi Assembly comprises three BJP legislators - Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, Jagdish Pradhan and O P Sharma.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had won 67 of the 70 Assembly seats in Delhi in the 2015 election.
After taking the oath, Sirsa thanked voters of his constituency and pledged to work for their welfare besides "exposing non performance" of the AAP government in the House.
