An organisation called Antarashtriya Kshtriya Veeraangna Foundation (AKVF) today sought President Ramnath Kovind's intervention regarding the release

of the controversial movie 'Padmavaat'.

AKVF, the international organisation of women members of the Rajput community, which is registered here, today sent a letter to President Nath Kovind through the local BJP MP, Bidyut Baran Mahato.

In the letter, AKVF president and general secretary Heena Singh Judeo and Bharati Singh urged the President to watch the movie himself and then take a decision.

The movie is slated to be released across the country on January 25.

The Supreme Court today rejected the pleas filed by Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh seeking modification of its January 18 order that had paved the way for the nationwide release of controversial film 'Padmaavat', and sternly warned the protestors to "abide by our order".
