Raju lays foundation stone for 'Shilparamam'

Union Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju today laid the foundation stone for 'Shilparamam', a permanent market for arts and crafts, in Vyasanarayana Metla here.

The Minister informed that 'Shilparamam' is a permanent market for arts, crafts and will also have food courts.

"The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore in the first phase for construction of Shilparamam in 41 acres land", Raju said.

The Minister also said in the first phase, an exhibition ground and a stage for week-end programmes and shops for artisans will be constructed.

In the second phase, a museum will be developed to show replicas of the historical district structural buildings and an arts gallery will come up, he added.
 

"Handicrafts and artisans would get more employment opportunities through 'Shilparamam'," the Minister said.
