CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechuri today reiterated that the recent rally attended by a group of non-BJP and non-Congress parties was not a step towards formation of a Third or Fourth Front for the next Lok Sabha elections.

"Jaise cricket mein batsman ko pavilion bhejne ke leye Doosra hota hai, waise he it was a Doosra (It was just like that unique spin bowling which is used to send a batsman to the pavilion). It is not for vote politics and not a third or fourth front," the CPI(M) leader told reporters in response to a question on the sidelines of programme here.

A group of non-BJP and non-Congress parties, including UPA constituent NCP, came together on a common platform to fight communal forces at the "Convention for People's Unity Against Communalism" sponsored by the Left parties in New Delhi on October 30.
