Activists of Sarb Naujawan Sabha and local police today took out an anti-drug rally here to mark International Day against drug abuse.

Local MLA and Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Som Parkash Kainth flagged off the rally.

Participants in the rally carried placards saying, 'Punjabio Jago, Nashey Tiyago' (Wake up Punjabis, Give up intoxicants) and "Say Yes to Life and No to Drugs".

In his address to the participants, Kainth said "drugs are a social evil and no political leader should play politics over it."

He asked leaders from the political parties to come to a consensus over the issue and make joint efforts to make the state drug-free.
