Rally to mark 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda

To celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, thousands of youngsters will participate at a huge rally here on Sunday pledging to follow the ideals of the nineteenth century philosopher-saint.

Three processions with tableaus will start from Hedua Park near the ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda, Subhas Udayan near the house of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Ram Lila ground in Moulali.

All the processions will converge at Shahid Minar where a nine-day-long exhibition would be held.

Being organised by Swami Vivekananda Sardha Sati Samoroha, a conglomerate of organisations under the leadership of Vivekananda Kendra, the concluding programme of the celebrations would be held at Shahid Minar on January 5.
 

Ramesh Kumar Saraogi from the Friends of Tribal Society told reporters here that around 50,000 youths from all parts of the country would come to Kolkata on that day taking a pledge to serve the nation following Swamiji's ideals.
