Rally to spread road safety awareness

Traffic Police and the Transport Department organised a rally to mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims here today.

Thousands of school students took part in the rally which was organised to spread awareness about road safety and traffic rules, Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Rajesh Kumar said.

The rally was flagged off from the Ram Lila Maidan in Kavi Nagar and concluded at the Traffic Park-Meerut Road roundabout.

Around 1.45 lakh people died and 4.96 lakh were injured in road accidents across the country in 2015, he said.
