Ram Navami was celebrated at the ISKCON-Mayapur temple with much pomp and fervour.
The celebrations started early in the day with Mangal Arti followed by lectures delivered by senior monks who elaborated on the life of Rama, imploring guests to follow the teachings of Lord Rama, a press release issued by the ISKCON today said.
Deities of Rama, Lakshman and Sita along with Hanuman in colourful outfits were placed on an altar decorated with flowers, it said.

In the evening the deities were taken out for a grand Shobha Yatra (procession) on a chariot within the temple premises amid ecstatic congregational chanting.
Devotional songs rendered by devotees was one of the big attractions of the day.
Rama Navami is widely celebrated as a festival, which falls on the ninth day of the month of Chaitra and marks the appearance day of Lord Rama, Krishna's seventh incarnation of the Dashavatar.
