Ram Navmi celebrated in Kashmir Valley

Ram Navmi was celebrated today with religious fervour and gaiety throughout Kashmir valley, with special prayers held for peace and prosperity of the state.

The members of Pandit community and paramilitary forces visited Ram temples in different parts of the Valley, including Ram Temple at Barbar Shah and Sharika Devi Temple at Hari Parbat hill here.

The 82 battalion CRPF organised a grand puja at Sharika Devi Temple, which was attended by Inspector General (IG) CRPF V S Yadav and many other officers including civil and police authorities and businessmen as well as Kashmiri Pandits, a CRPF spokesman said.

The IGP offered special prayers for peace and prosperity of the state, he said.
 

Reports of celebration of Ram Navmi were also received from other parts of the Valley, including Anantnag and Baramulla.
