"In a meeting at Raj Bhavan last evening, Ramadorai and Vohra discussed the initiatives taken to give major push to the skill development of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir for enhancing their employability in the job market," an official spokesman said today.
He said status of implementation of 'Udaan', 'Himayat' and other initiatives taken by the Government to secure these objectives was discussed during the meeting.
Vohra emphasised on the need for planned efforts to spread all available opportunities so that the youth could avail the maximum possible benefit.
"The youth of the state are highly talented and by upgrading their skills they would be placed in an advantageous position in the emerging job market," he said.
Earlier, Ramadorai while chairing a meeting on 'Skill Development' at SKICC here said focus should be on creating a platform where employability of youth forms a central concern.
"Government institutions, academicians and corporates have a responsibility in this regard to work together and sort out issues and address the mismatch between supply and demand," he said, adding the central government would lend full support to the state in its endeavour to provide employability to youths.
