Raman Bahl appointed PSSSB chairman

The Punjab government today appointed Raman Bahl as chairman of the reconstituted Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board.

Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had on March 21 informed the Vidhan Sabha that the reconstitution of the Subordinate Selection Service Board was under process.

A spokesperson of the chief minister's office said that the notification on Bahl's appointment had already been issued by the personnel department.

The post of the chairman fell vacant after the abolition of the 11-member Subordinate Services Selection Board on February 27, 2018.

Bahl, son of former minister Khushal Bahl, is a practicing lawyer at Gurdaspur Courts.

He was a member of the senate of the Panjab University, Chandigarh from 2008 to 2012.

 

He also served as senate member of the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar from 2004 to 2006, besides being syndicate member of the GNDU for one year.

Bahl has also been on the Board of Directors of the Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur and had also been chairman of the Gurdaspur Education Society to cater the educational needs of the border area.
