Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today strongly condemned the Maoist attack in Dantewada district, where seven CRPF personnel were killed, and saluted the soldiers for their sacrifice which he said will not go in vain.

Maoists blew up a mini truck, carrying security forces, in Kuakonda police station area of Dantewada district, killing all its seven occupants, including the driver.

"Whether they are jawans of CRPF, BSF and ITBP or Chhattisgarh Police, they all are fighting to protect democracy.

"Security personnel have laid down their lives to free Bastar from violence and Maoist terror. Their sacrifice will not go in vain," Singh said and strongly condemned the latest attack on security personnel by rebels in the state.

Naxals will never succeed in their evil designs, he added. "Jawans sacrificed their lives today while rendering duty. I salute their sacrifice."

The Chief Minister said despite suffering casualties, security forces in the past have been sensitive to the ultras.

On many occasions, security forces have donated their blood to the injured Naxals. They have airlifted Maoists who got injured in gun-battles to Raipur for treatment. This showed sensitiveness on part of the state police, he said.
