Ramanathan claims LMW ITF Men's Futures singles title

India's Davis Cupper Ram Kumar Ramanathan today clinched LMW ITF Men's Futures singles title after posting a comfortable 6-4 6-2 win over Bown Quyang of China in the final here today.

Ram Kumar, ranked 228 and top seeded in the tournament, dominated from the word go and in a clinic manner he went about his task to win the first set in 37 minutes and then needed just 25 more minutes to wrap up match.

The Indian star put up an excellent display and his game was without any blemish, and he double faulted only once at 30-30 in the very first game of the match. Otherwise, Ram Kumar was error free and never allowed the Chinese any chance in the game.
 

With this title win, Ram Kumar gained 18 ATP points and a prize money of USD 1440 (Rs 93,000), while Bowen received USD 848 (Rs 53,000) and earned 12 ATP points.
