The issuance of a notice seeking the report within six months from Tamil Nadu Director General of Police came after a complaint was filed by activist Sarvanan Karuppusaamy of World Human Rights Commission and Rescue Centre (WHRCRC).
The WHRCRC petitioned the NHRC asking it to issue a direction for a CBI enquiry into the alleged incident and submit its report for further consideration of the Commission.
