"It was the media which distorted my statement," said Ramdev, who is on a two-day visit to the city.
His recent statement that MPs were dacoits had created a furore but he later said that he did not mean all the MPs.
Ramdev said the country is facing a serious "crisis" and even the Army Chief General V K Singh had said that Army lacked proper equipment.
On Maoists, he said their demands may have merit but the manner in which they go about to get them fulfilled was undesirable.
The ultras, he said, should forsake violence and take recourse to Constitutional ways.
