In a blistering attack, Congress today said that Yoga guru Ramdev's credibility has taken a hit as he has been "campaigning" for the BJP and has more or less become an object of "ridicule".

"Ramdev is slowly turning out to be a fun and no more remains a serious subject now. Instead of teaching yoga to people, he is touring the country as BJP's campaigner, which has lessened his respect among the masses," Congress Secretary Sanjay Nirupam told reporters here.

The MP said though Ramdev talks about bringing back black money stashed in foreign banks, his own institution is facing the charge of Rs 900 crore tax evasion.

He rubbished Ramdev's allegation that Congress has framed his brother Ram Bharat in an abduction case involving a former employee of the Patanjali Yog Peeth.

Responding to a query on soaring prices of onions, Nirupam said, "The states and not the Centre is to be blamed for the spike in prices as states are not taking action against hoarders".

Nirupam alleged that BJP was spreading misinformation that Narendra Modi is more popular leader than Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on the cyber space.

"Hired workers of BJP are running a misinformation campaign on the social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to show Modi as the most popular leader," he said.
