Ramesh Abhishek gets three-month extension as FMC chairman

This is the third time that Abhishek has got an extension after taking over as the chief of the commodity markets regulator in September, 2012

Ramesh Abhishek was on Monday given a three-month extension as chairman of the Forward Markets Commission (FMC). This is the third the extension after taking over as chief of the commodity markets regulator in September 2012. The latest extension is till April 7.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension for Abhishek, a 1982-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, for a period of three months beyond January 8, or until the appointment of the new incumbent, said an order issued today by the department of personnel and training.

Abhishek was given a three-month extension in July and then once more in October of last year. His second extended stint ended on January 7 of this year.
