India's Ramkumar Ramanathan and his Spanish partner David Perez Sanz knocked out top seeds Radu Albot and Sergey Betov in straight sets to advance to the semifinals of the Moscow Challenger tournament, here today.
The unseeded Ramkumar and Perez Sanz eked out a 7-6(5) 6-3 win over the top seeds in the quarterfinals of the USD 75,000 clay court event.
Ramkumar and Perez Sanz saved all eight breakpoints they faced in the one-hour 31-minute match -- four each in two sets. They broke their rivals once in the second set to seal their win.
Ramkumar had earlier lost his singles first round 4-6 4-6 to second seed Russian Karen Khachanov.
