The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today demanded an apology from senior Congress minister Narayan Rane, for labelling LJP President Ram Vilas Paswan as "corrupt".

"Rane, who is the Maharashtra state Congress poll campaign chief for the October 15 assembly elections published a booklet, which described Paswan as corrupt," Maharashtra LJP President Shameem Hawa told reporters here today.

"Rane should tender an apology to Paswan for this serious and baseless allegation," he said.

"In fact, Rane and Congress terming others corrupt is a contradiction in itself," the LJP leader said.

"We will approach court if Rane does not apologise," he said.
