Terming reports of discontent within the party a media creation, the Congress today ruled out any change in the leadership of its legislative wing in Goa.

"The question does not arise. Nobody has asked Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane to be replaced," All India Congress Committee Secretary A Chellakumar said this evening after holding several meetings with the party MLAs.

Chellakumar arrived here after a majority of party legislators, upset with Rane, boycotted Congress Legislative Party's meeting on Monday.

Chellakumar, however, downplayed the development.

MLA Atanasio Monserratte told PTI last night that seven of the Congress legislators in Goa Assembly wanted Rane to be removed as Leader of Opposition.

The revolt against Rane was triggered when he as part of the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly allowed it to curtail the number of questions that a legislator can ask during the ongoing session.
