Rangasamy assures steps to meet drinking water requirements

A 'massive' project to provide 70 litre of water per person in villages of the Union Territory was being finalised, Chief Minister N Rangasamy today said.

Commissioning the Rs 1.76 crore drinking water project in neighbouring Sembiapalayam taken up with NABARD assistance, he said it would cater to the requirements of the villagers in Sembiapalayam and Pudukuppam villages.

He said Public Works Department had drawn up detailed plans to construct overhead tanks in villages to supply drinking water. The tanks were being constructed in a phased manner, he added.
