Rangasamy pays homage to Ambedkar

Chief Minister N Rangasamy led the Union Territory of Puducherry to pay homage to Dr B.R.Ambedkar the principal architect of Indian constitution and champion of the downtrodden on the occasion of his 60th death anniversary today.

Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Ambedkar at the Bharathi Park opposite the Assembly premises here. Speaker V Sabapathy, Welfare Minister P.Rajavelu, Electricity Minister T.Thiagarajan, Local Administration minister N G Panneerselvam, Deputy Speaker T P R Selvam, legislators, officials and delegates of various organisations were among those who paid homage at the statue.

A delegation of opposition Congress led by its president A Namassivayam MLA and comprising functionaries of PCC paid tributes at the statue.Representatives of various organisations, political parties and outfits championing the cause of the downtrodden paid homage at the statue.
