Rangasamy resigns

Chief Minister N Rangasamy today resigned following the defeat of his AINRC in the Assembly polls.

Rangasamy handed over his resignation letter to Lt Governor A K Singh at the Raj Nivas here.

He told waiting reporters that he had submitted the resignation of his cabinet.

Congress-DMK combine emerged as the winners in the elections, bagging 17 seats in the 30-member Assembly.

AINRC won only eight seats.
