Ranvir Sena chief's 'shraddh' takes place under tight security

The administration deployed 10 companies of anti-riot police force, one company of para military force, three units of the Special Task Force (STF), besides 600 armed policemen with 30 entry points set up, official sources said.

Video cameras were also put to use to record the identity of all those visiting Khopira, they said.

Forty-one cluster points were decided for deployment of security forces, while 15 security patrols made rounds.

The DIG, Shahabad range, Ajitabh Kumar himself supervised security measures in the district.

Meanwhile, three persons from Jehanabad district were held with three licenced pistols and 68 rounds of ammunition from a place under Shahar police station area in Bhojpur, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shivchandra Prasad said

 

State Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Giriraj Singh, PHED Minister Chandra Mohan Rai, MPs Meena Singh and Sushil Singh, besides about 100 MLAs of various political parties were in attendance at the function, they said.

The chief's youngest son Indu Bhushan Singh performed the 'shraddh' rituals attended by over 40,000.

Elaborate arrangements were made for the feast of both visiting dignitaries and common people with reporters from both print and electronic media covering the rituals. MORE
