Rao says Centre agreed to allow utility payments in

Telangana Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao tonight said the Centre had agreed, as per his suggestion, to let people pay their utility bills, including property tax and electricity bills, with the demonetised currency notes till tomorrow night.

Rao, son of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, said he made the suggestion to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley during a meeting in Delhi today, and the Centre had issued a notification in this regard.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Hyderabad Metro Water Board have announced separately that they will accept payments with demonetised notes till tomorrow night.
