Rao visits Mahabubnagar; interacts with residents

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today undertook a visit to Mahabubnagar and assured that several measures would be taken for the welfare of the residents in the district.

Rao visited the slums at Old Palamuru in Mahabubnagar town and inquired about the problems of the people, a state government release said.

Speaking at a public meeting later, he said Mahabubnagar remained backward among different Telangana districts and that people are leaving in poor conditions.

He assured that houses would be constructed for all eligible poor. Self-employment and other help to the people would be provided under the SC, ST sub-plan.
 

He said Rs 1,030 crore has been allocated for Muslim minorities, the release said.

Houses would be constructed for the homeless, he said, adding that people should be united and make collective efforts for betterment of the society.

Observing that the Telangana government is implementing a number of welfare programmes, he suggested that eligible people should apply for the benefits, the release added.
