Three policemen were placed under suspension in Reasi district after an accused in a rape case escaped from a police lock up, a senior police officer said today.
Three policemen including a Night Duty Officer were suspended after an under trial rape accused managed to escape from police custody in Katra town of the Reasi district.
Four persons accused of allegedly raping a 10-year old girl were arrested by the police, however last night the main accused Pawan managed to give police a slip from the lockup, a police officer said.
"A Night Duty Officer and two sentries have been placed under suspension," SSP Reasi, Sujit Kumar said adding that they were suspended for dereliction of duty.
He said that police teams have been constituted to nab the accused.
