A man accused in a rape case, who had jumped bail, was arrested here at the airport on his return from Sharjah.
The police laid the bait for Usman Kutty of Mannarkadu in Kerala who had fled to Sharjah after his release on bail six months ago, police said.
Mallapuram police had tipped off the city police about the arrival of the accused from Sharjah, leading to his arrest, police said.

Kutty was arrested on the charge of raping a woman about two years ago by Mallapuram police and was later released on conditional bail.
However, jumping the bail, he escaped to Sharjah by a flight from Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu about six months ago, they said.
